1992-2018
He was born, raised, and educated in Lahore and started teaching at Aitchison College Lahore soon after completing Masters in Urdu language & literature. Later, he joined Lahore Lyceum Lahore to teach Urdu to O and A level students. The Punjab Public Service Commission appointed him to work as a lecturer in Urdu, and he served two-years in Govt. Degree College, Pattoki, and later transferred to Govt. Islamia College Civil Lines, Lahore. He also worked as a visiting professor of Urdu at KIPS campus located in 30-A Johar Town, Lahore. He had been an active member of Halqa-e-Arbab-e-Zoq, Lahore, and had been elected joint-secretary twice in 1993 and 1999, respectively. His first Urdu poetry book, "Kisi sey Pyaar ka Matlab," came out in 1993 through Jahangir Book Depot, Urdu Bazar Lahore. Later, he contributed to Urdu literature by publishing a novel "Mah-e-Maya" (Dastavez Matbuat, Lahore) in 1998, "Dhayaan maiN Gum" (QadraiN Publishers, Lahore) poetry in 1999, "Koee Baat Banna bhi Chahiyey" (Ravish Publications, Lahore) in 2006, "December maiN Mahabbat" (Dastavez Matbuat, Lahore) in 2012, "Roshan Andherey" (Rightage Publications, California) in 2013, and "Jo na Bujh Sakey" (Lok Varsa Books, California) poems in 2018.
He has also written several literary essays and research articles. He migrated to the United States in 2008 and got accepted by a University in California to teach the Urdu language. Along with teaching, he completed a Masters in Education (Instructional Technology) from Brandman University, California. Nowadays, he is working on completing his Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership and is registered with Abilene Christian University, TX.
Salman Siddique belongs to an educated literary family. His late father Muhammad Siddique was a poet and used to have a vast collection of books. His mother also has a great interest in reading literary, political, and religious texts. His elder sister Mainmoona Siddique had earned a Master's degree in Psychology with a diploma in Clinical Psychology and settled in Germany. His other sister Fozia Najaf is a house-wife and residing in Lahore. His real-uncle (father's younger brother) Dr. Tabassum Kashmiri is a renowned scholar, poet, critic, and researcher.
Salman Siddique has been blessed with two beautiful daughters Yasha Salman and Zoha Salman, who are completing their bachelor's. His wife Raifa Salman had earned a Master's degree from NIML (now NUML) in English linguistics along with another Master's in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University, California. She inherited tremendous literary taste from her father, who was a mathematician and praiser of literary works.
